About European Outdoor Group

The European Outdoor Group (EOG) is an industry association that represents the outdoor sector across Europe. It was founded in 2003 by 19 of the world's largest outdoor companies, and has since grown to include over 100 members, comprising brands, retailers, national associations, and technology providers. The EOG's vision is to do global, profitable business in a way that gives back more than we take - from nature and from people.

The EOG's activities are based on three pillars: business, nature, and activity. Under the business pillar, the EOG conducts market research, organises and supports trade shows and industry events, promotes sustainability and social responsibility initiatives, and represents the sector to the European Commission, NGOs, and other stakeholders. Under the nature pillar, the EOG supports the European Outdoor Conservation Association (EOCA), which was created in 2006 to fund and implement conservation projects around the world. Under the activity pillar, the EOG supports the It's Great Out There Coalition (IGOTC), which was established in 2017 to encourage and enable European citizens to get active outdoors.

The EOG is the voice of the European outdoor sector, and aims to add value to its members, facilitate pre-competitive collaboration, and promote industry growth. The EOG also organises the annual European Outdoor Summit, which brings together leaders and experts from the outdoor industry to share insights, best practices, and innovations. The EOG is a member of the Federation of the European Sporting Goods Industry (FESI), and works closely with other international organisations, such as the Outdoor Industry Association (OIA) and the World Federation of the Sporting Goods Industry (WFSGI).
