People of Leisure isn’t _just _an online fashion brand. We’re deeper than that. We’re a philosophy. A belief that to live leisurely — to live with complete freedom — one must be conscious of their actions.  Purpose brings peace.

That’s how we started. We had a heartbeat for fashion, but made a conscious decision to not let scrap textiles from the apparel industry go to waste. We chose to breathe new life into materials that otherwise would be forgotten and, sadly, dumped for mama Earth to worry about.

The result? A collection of inspired, upcycled clothing that’s one-of-a-kind. Accountable and dreamy, mindful and folksy, authentic and mystical. It’s  a state of mind.

We’re LA proud

We have a flair for unique fabrics. We hunt for deadstock fabrics in Los Angeles, California — our home. We keep our eyes open for materials that would make chic boho dresses unique flair pants, perfect for that boho girl at heart.

We’re sustainable

Not only do we source deadstock fabrics, we also try our best to use eco-friendly techniques, such as minimizing waste and water use in our facilities. We always look for ways to lower our impact on the environment. Our dream is to one day work with farmers in growing our own cotton.

We make sure that everyone we work with — from producers and artisans to garment workers and manufacturers — has a crystal clear understanding of federal and state labor laws. This includes things like being properly registered as a business, maintaining time and pay records, never involving children in production, and that all pricing negotiated is in accordance with fair trade guidelines.

When you shop for boho clothing online with us, you’ll always find folksy, fashionable pieces. Our nomadic styles are made with the creative wanderer in mind. We promise you’ll never need (or want) to throw away our clothing after time. Our pieces are ethical, but never boring.

We’ll give you the perfect fit

We also focus our time and energy on making sure our pieces are fit for all body types. Based on helpful customer feedback, countless hours have gone into the development of our products, ensuring the perfect fit — always. Our products are also pre-washed before they leave the facility. This prevents shrinkage when washed and keeps the fit for years of great style.

We’re one-of-a-kind

Our garments are hand-dyed using eco-friendly techniques to create unique textures and high-quality fabric. No one is the same. The color is added to the style after it’s cut and sewn to gain a deep and lively feeling to the fabric.

We’re all about slow fashion

We know our planet is under pressure — a lot of this caused by our industry. It’s too big, too fast, too cheap. We’re slowing down the process of consumption by promising to never mass-produce our pieces. It’s more special that way.
