About AIKYOU

THE DELICATE AND EXCLUSIVE LINGERIE BRAND FOR SMALL BUSTS Small busts are gorgeous. Just the way they are. And our designs are specifically made for them. Our styles look puristic, being the result of careful and sophisticated tailoring. We are passionate about everything we do, and, therefore, we test and rework each piece until we are completely satisfied. Only when we no longer feel a bra, when it adapts individually to the body, is it perfect for us. Your bust, for sure, can’t be “wrong”. But your bra might be. That’s why our timeless designs are something you will always like to wear – any day and on any occasion. WE DO OUR BEST Because we want you to love feeling our underwear on your skin, we use only the smoothest fabrics, yarns and ribbons. For the same reason, sustainability never was a marketing trend for us, but always a matter close to our heart. We handle all resources responsibly. For us, this is not just a question of labels and certifications. It goes far beyond that. We live this claim both professionally and in our private lives. With this in mind, we always do our best – without claiming to be perfect. Our brand AIKYOU, inspired by a Japanese female name, exactly expresses this attitude: it translates as "love and respect". FINEST ORGANIC PREMIUM QUALITY Not all organic cotton is the same. Our long-staple premium quality will not only prove more durable, it practically won’t pill and will keep you happy with its lasting, intense colour. But most of all, it will surprise you with a substantially thicker and wonderfully soft hand feel. Certified as “natural fibre from controlled organic cultivation“, it can grow in natural crop rotation, without using any genetically modified seeds, chemical-synthetic fertilizers, or pesticides. Due to intelligent irrigation, organic cotton saves up to 91 % in water consumption. Overall, it offers a lower CO2 balance. It also creates better health conditions for the cotton farmers, who can, at the same time, free themselves from financial dependency on agricultural companies. FAIRTRADE Our organic cotton is Fairtrade-certified and thus secures the livelihood of our producers with fair wage and work regulations. The yarn is spun in Baden-Wuerttemberg, Germany. This is also where the fabric is knitted, dyed, and cut before our undies are sewn in Croatia in a Fairtrade-certified workshop. All other materials are manufactured in Germany and Europe in an environmentally and socially compatible way, and to standards of high quality workmanship. CERTIFICATES According to GOTS guidelines, our underwear has always been fulfilling the requirements of the GOTS seal. But in order to use it, we would have to get our own certification – whereas this is e.g. not prescribed for direct sellers like big discounters. We would have to go through that process every year, with an administrative and financial effort, which, in our opinion, is not appropriate. That's why we won't employ the GOTS seal, nor the equally expensive Green Button. However, with the organic cotton, Fairtrade and Oeko-Tex® Standard 100 certifications, some of which are prerequisites for the other seals, we ensure high sustainability standards. REGIONAL AND PARTNERSHIP-BASED Short routes, that is environmentally friendly transportation and communication, matter to us – as does a trusting cooperation with our suppliers and partners. That’s why we prefer to find them close to us. Moreover, we can gain insight into their production conditions at any time. This refers to our fabric producers as well as to our print shop, or to the workshop for disabled people that hand-sews our packaging. TIMELESS STYLE We produce our sustainable underwear in small quantities. Even during the design process, we consciously select materials to conserve resources. That's why we don't launch seasonal collections, which often cause large amounts of leftover material. Rather, we carefully add new parts to our model range. Because good style, which is fashionable yet not short-dated, will give you pleasure for longer. And that is, after all, the most sustainable thing you can do. ALWAYS A BIT BETTER We'd rather think twice, for example regarding our packaging materials, which are minimised; we use second-hand cardboard boxes; our packaging is recyclable, and everything made of paper comes from certified forestry. We buy green electricity, ship via DHL GoGreen, and also pay attention to all things eco in our personal lives. In addition, we keep questioning what doing business in a sustainable way actually means. For us, discount battles, which promote the fast fashion system, are not part of it. ANIMAL-FRIENDLY For us, responsibility towards nature also means paying attention to animal welfare. That is why our production and packaging are animal-free. And since we don't only love our office dogs, we as a company support the animal welfare organisation Pro Animale as well as bee and insect protection schemes.
