Far Eastern New Century (FENC) touts global prominence in polyester and textile production, brand name, and technology. It makes and markets semi-finished and finished goods, including yarns, fabrics, bed sheets, towels, and knitted apparel. The company is Asia's #1 producer of polyester polymer and polyethylene terephthalate (PET) resin, used in a variety of items from beer bottles to mechanical rubber. It prints and dyes cloth as well as makes films. Its products are used by known brands such as Adidas, Nike, H&M, Levi's. The company roots its history back in 1942 when Yu-Ziang Hsu founded Far Eastern Knitting Factory Co., Ltd. in Shanghai, it is part of the Far Eastern Group, a Taiwan-based conglomerate with around 250 affiliated companies.
