About INDOCERT

INDOCERT is a nationally and internationally operating, accredited certification body established in India. It is one of the first certification bodies in India to start organic certification activities in the country. INDOCERT offers certification services for organic production, processing, trade, and input approval according to various standards and regulations.

INDOCERT's sustainability standards include the following:

  • Rainforest Alliance Certification: This is a certification scheme that promotes environmental, social, and economic sustainability for farms and forestlands. Rainforest Alliance Certified farms and forestlands meet the comprehensive standards of the Sustainable Agriculture Network or the Forest Stewardship Council, which cover biodiversity conservation, worker rights and welfare, and efficient farm management.
  • 4C Certification: This is a certification scheme that verifies the compliance of coffee producers and traders with the 4C Code of Conduct, which is a set of baseline sustainability criteria for the coffee sector. The 4C Code of Conduct covers good agricultural practices, environmental protection, social conditions, and economic viability.
  • Trustea Certification: This is a certification scheme that verifies the compliance of tea producers and traders with the Trustea Code, which is a set of sustainability standards for the Indian tea sector. The Trustea Code covers good agricultural practices, food safety, environmental management, social responsibility, and economic transparency.
  • Union for Ethical Bio Trade (UEBT) Certification: This is a certification scheme that verifies the compliance of natural ingredient suppliers and users with the UEBT Standard, which is a set of principles and criteria for ethical sourcing of biodiversity. The UEBT Standard covers conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity, respect for traditional knowledge, fair and equitable sharing of benefits, and socio-economic development.
  • ISO 22000:2018 Food Safety Management System Certification: This is a certification scheme that verifies the compliance of food organizations with the ISO 22000:2018 standard, which is a set of requirements for establishing, implementing, maintaining, and improving a food safety management system. The ISO 22000:2018 standard covers food safety policy, food safety hazards, operational controls, communication, verification, and improvement.
  • FSSAI Audit: This is a service that provides third-party audits for food businesses in India as per the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) regulations. The FSSAI audit covers food safety and hygiene, food quality, food labelling, and food traceability.
  • BioSuisse Certification: This is a certification scheme that verifies the compliance of organic products with the BioSuisse standards, which are a set of organic production and processing rules for the Swiss market.   • CASTOR Certification: This is a certification scheme that verifies the compliance of organic products with the CASTOR standards, which are a set of organic production and processing rules for the Japanese market.   • SuCCESS Trainer’s Training: This is a service that provides training for trainers who want to deliver the SuCCESS (Sustainable Certification Services) training program, which is a capacity building program for certification bodies and inspectors in the organic and sustainable sector.
