History GSL is a leading company in the production of premium denim fabrics with an established history of more than 150 years of textile heritage and craftsmanship tradition.
The company’s beginnings date from 1846 when the company was first founded in Spain, and then expanded its operations to the Western Hemisphere, finding in Mexico its new home. GSL is owned by Grupo Siete Leguas, a renowned Mexican group that produces jeans to the most select brands and retailers in the US Market.
Mission To offer denim products of the highest quality and innovation, which allows us to increase our participation in the market, quickly adapting to changes in fashion, training and empowering our employees, constantly renewing our technology, and effectively managing our quality systems.
Vision To be recognized in America’s denim market, as leaders in innovation and quality, always seeking profitability for our shareholders, respecting the environment and the community where we operate.
Quality efforts Our highest priority is to produce quality products and added value solutions for our customers. We’ve built a robust business model capable of offering a wide array of products to our customers with the peace of mind that these are produced responsibly and with the highest standards, minimizing its environmental impact and improving the life of our employees, their families, and our community. We understand the key role of technology in our operation and focus our research efforts to find the newest equipment and to empower our associates to incorporate best in class industry practices to exceed our customer’s expectations.
Sustainability Our sustainability efforts start by producing quality products that can hold their value over time, products that are durable and provide ever lasting value for our customers. We aim to do this in the most responsible way, pioneering sustainable manufacturing processes and using the cleanest and safest raw materials and supplies in our processes.
When it comes to sustainability, the conversation gravitates not only about what can be said about a determined process, but on what can be measured and certified. GSL is a proud member of the Better Cotton Initiative (BCI), Cotton LEADS, licensee of Cotton USA and the U.S. Cotton Trust Protocol. 10% of the cotton content that is used on our fabrics is reclaimed from our internal process. 70% of our factory is powered by wind. 100% of the indigo that is used in our process is Bluesign® certified liquid indigo, which is the cleanest and most sustainable indigo available in the market, which significantly reduces the amount of chemicals used in the manufacturing process, and at our wastewater facilities.
GSL has also invested on advanced finishing technology (Eco-Finish) that allows our finishing process to save 85% of the water used in this process, compared to conventional textile finishing process. Regarding product, we have developed the technology that allows for our fabrics to be more sensitive to be processed with laser (LSD Fabrics).
These products can achieve higher levels of contrast and allows indigo to be removed from the fabric using less energy. In addition, one of the most important contributions of this technology is the elimination of harsh chemicals from the wet processing, such as potassium permanganate, resulting in a cleaner process and a healthier work environment.
J.Crew Group, LLC is a renowned American multi-brand, multi-channel specialty retailer known for its classic style and high-quality clothing. The company's journey began in 1947 when Mitchell Cinader and Saul Charles founded Popular Merchandise, Inc., which initially sold low-priced women's clothing through in-home demonstrations. Over the years, the company evolved, and by 1983, it had rebranded itself as J.Crew, Inc., marking the beginning of a new era in retail fashion.
The company's growth was fueled by its successful catalog operations, which offered a Ralph Lauren look at a more affordable price. This strategy led to explosive growth, with annual sales skyrocketing from $3 million to over $100 million within five years. In 1989, J.Crew opened its first retail store in South Street Seaport, Manhattan, setting the stage for a nationwide expansion.
Today, J.Crew Group operates under the ownership of Anchorage Capital Group and Leonard Green & Partners. It has established itself as an internationally recognized omnichannel retailer with a family of brands that includes J.Crew, J.Crew Factory, and Madewell. The company's product range is extensive, offering jewelry, accessories, footwear, and apparel for women, men, and children. It also sells home goods, office supplies, tableware, travel gear, and more.
J.Crew Group is particularly known for its signature categories such as cashmere, coats, blazers, and pants. It has also made a name for itself through collaborations with some of the coolest brands in the market. As of 2016, the company operated more than 450 retail stores across the United States, and despite facing challenges like the COVID-19 pandemic, which led to a bankruptcy protection filing in 2020, J.Crew has continued to be a staple in the American fashion industry.
The company's commitment to quality and its ability to stay in tune with the evolving fashion trends have allowed it to maintain a loyal customer base. With a focus on providing a Ralph Lauren look without the high-end price tag, J.Crew has carved out a niche for itself in the competitive world of retail fashion.

Sustainable pants are a fashionable and eco-friendly addition to any wardrobe, featuring materials for durability and comfort. The term 'sustainable' refers to the production process and materials of the clothing, such as organic cotton, ethical labor practices, and the design of garments with minimal environmental impact. Sustainable denim is a popular choice for many consumers, offering fashionable jeans and trousers, made from materials that are recyclable and biodegradable. There are plenty of clothing brands that specialize in sustainable fashion. Many of these brands cater for all size ranges and offer petite sizes for women, big & tall sizes for men, and even extended size clothing. Furthermore, these labels have often taken steps to include a diverse range of models in their campaigns in order to promote an inclusive message.
How Do Sustainable Pants Benefit the Environment?
The environmental benefits associated with sustainable pants reach far beyond just their production. The impact that consumer purchases have on global supply chains is substantial, providing financial power to sustain ethical working practices and improved sustainability initiatives. Recognizing this responsibility, some manufacturers have taken steps towards reducing waste by introducing recycling schemes and donation programs that encourage consumers to extend the life of their garments.
What Sizes Are Available for Sustainable Pants?
In respect to size availability, sustainable pants come in a wide range of styles and silhouettes. Women’s sizes are more commonly featured by sustainable clothing brands, however many labels are now introducing lines tailored to men’s big & tall sizes. Sustainable fashion is as much about style as it is about sustainability, so you can still find the cuts, fits, and slims that you’d want in pants.
What Styles Can Be Found with Sustainable Pants?
From wide leg trousers to skinny jeans, sustainable pants come in a variety of styles. Some of the most popular materials include organic cotton, ethical linen, and eco-friendly denim. Many garments are also produced using Fair Trade practices which ensure fair wages for workers throughout the supply chain. The sustainable fashion sector has continued to evolve and some environmental initiatives have been woven into the fabric of brands' core values.
How To Choose High Quality Sustainable Pants
When shopping for sustainable pants, think about more than just the environmental benefits. Be sure to notice the quality of the fabric and the stitching, as these will have a big impact on how long your garment will last. It is also important to consider body type when selecting styles, as some cuts may not be flattering or comfortable on specific builds. A brand's product range is also an indication of their commitment to sustainable clothing, so do your research on those who focus exclusively on eco-friendly garments. Finally, take the time to consider how your purchase impacts people too. Who is responsible for producing these garments and what safety measures are in place? Do they treat their workers with respect? Considering all aspects of fashion production — from water usage, to carbon emissions — can provide a much deeper insight into the true impact of a garment. Sustainable pants offer a new approach to fashion and provide consumers with choices that can make a positive impact in terms of sustainability, human rights, and ethical production practices. Whether you’re looking for durable denim jeans, stylish wide-leg trousers, or organic cotton pieces, you can feel confident that your clothes help promote accountability in fashion production.
