The brand is transparent about its decisions and challenges itself and others to create luxury products in a sustainable and ethical way, respectful of the world and its people. The brand's name comes from the word "holistic", which means "relating to or concerned with wholes or with complete systems rather than with the analysis of, treatment of, or dissection into parts". Olistic The Label aims to create a harmonious balance between the aesthetic, the functional, and the ethical aspects of fashion.
Materials
Olistic The Label uses only 100% natural and organic-certified fibers, such as peace silk, wood fiber and upcycling, to create its collections. Peace silk, also known as ahimsa silk, is a type of silk that is produced without killing the silkworms, respecting their life cycle and the principle of non-violence. Wood fiber, also known as lyocell, is a biodegradable and renewable material that is made from wood pulp, using a closed-loop process that recycles water and solvents. Upcycling is a creative process that transforms waste materials or unwanted products into new materials or products of higher quality or value. Olistic The Label also adds pearls, mother-of-pearl and turquoise stones from sustainable cultures as ornaments, enhancing the beauty of organic luxury.
Design
Olistic The Label offers a versatile and timeless wardrobe that combines minimalist silhouettes with a contemporary bohemian touch. The brand's designs are light and airy, with fluid and wide cuts that promote comfort and freedom of movement. The colors range from ecru to taupe, reflecting the organic roots of the brand. The brand is inspired by the four elements of nature: earth, water, air, and fire. Each collection is named after one of these elements, and expresses its essence through the choice of fabrics, colors, and details. For example, the Earth collection features warm and earthy tones, natural textures, and geometric patterns, while the Water collection features cool and aquatic tones, fluid and silky fabrics, and wave-like motifs.
Impact
Olistic The Label supports a social and environmental impact by working with women in organic sericulture in India, respecting the life cycle of the silkworms, and producing its garments in a family workshop in Portugal. The brand also collaborates with other ethical and sustainable brands, such as Veja, a fair-trade and ecological sneaker brand, and Nuoo, a natural and organic beauty box.
