About Marine Layer

Marine Layer is a clothing brand that specializes in soft and comfortable fabrics, inspired by the laid-back lifestyle of California. It was founded in 2010 by Mike Natenshon, who wanted to recreate his favorite vintage t-shirt that his girlfriend had thrown away. He teamed up with his friend Adam Lynch, who had a background in textile engineering, and together they developed their signature fabric: a blend of pima cotton and micromodal, a sustainable fiber made from recycled beechwood. Since then, Marine Layer has expanded their product line to include shirts, pants, dresses, swimwear, outerwear, and accessories for men and women. It also launched Re-Spun, a program that recycles old tees into new ones, saving water and reducing waste. Marine Layer has over 40 stores across the US, where customers can experience the brand’s relaxed vibe and friendly service. It also sells online through their website, where it offers free shipping and returns. Marine Layer’s mission is to make clothes that people love to wear and feel good in, while also being mindful of the environment and the community. It believes that clothes should be fun, easy, and timeless, just like the California coast.
