Derek Lam

Derek Lam is an American fashion designer who launched his own label in 2003. He is known for his modern and elegant women's fashion that combines style, comfort, and innovation. He was also the creative director for Tod's, an Italian luxury brand, from 2005 to 2010. He has won several awards and honors from the fashion industry, such as the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund and the CFDA Perry Ellis Swarovski Award. His work has been exhibited in various museums and institutions around the world.

In 2011, he introduced a new line called Derek Lam 10 Crosby, which is inspired by the cool and casual lifestyle of downtown New York. The collection offers versatile pieces that can be worn for different occasions, from work to weekend. It features seasonal fabrics, bold prints, artisanal denim, and sophisticated tailoring. It also has a fragrance collection that captures the essence of the city.

Derek Lam is from San Francisco, California and graduated from Parsons School of Design in New York. He is married to Jan Hendrik-Schlottmann, who is also his business partner. They live in Manhattan and have a store on Madison Avenue. Derek Lam's mission is to create clothes that are of value and integrity, while reflecting the sensibilities of his customers.
