About CELINE

eline is a Parisian luxury fashion house, renowned for its modern, minimalist aesthetic and commitment to craftsmanship. The brand was founded in 1945 by Céline Vipiana and her husband Richard, initially as a made-to-measure children's shoe business. The brand eventually diversified into women's shoes and accessories, and in 1960, introduced a ready-to-wear line, becoming a destination for feminine, elegant clothing and accessories.

In 1996, the company was acquired by LVMH Moët Hennessy - Louis Vuitton SE, the world's leading luxury goods group. The ownership by LVMH brought a fresh direction and expansion for the brand, as it increasingly became known for its chic, sophisticated women's fashion that blended innovation with timeless French elegance.

Over the years, Celine has been guided by several high-profile creative directors, each leaving their unique imprint on the brand. Currently, the brand is under the creative direction of Hedi Slimane, who took over in 2018 and added menswear and haute couture to Celine's offering.

Celine is celebrated for its leather goods, particularly its handbags which have become signature items for the brand. Notable designs such as the Luggage, Trapeze, and Classic Box bags, characterized by their clean lines and luxurious materials, have cemented Celine's reputation in the fashion world.

As part of the LVMH Group, Celine shares in its overarching sustainability commitments as outlined in the LIFE (LVMH Initiatives For the Environment) 2020 program. The program encompasses a range of environmental goals, focusing on areas such as sustainable supply chains, carbon footprint reduction, and product life cycle management.
