About Blancpain
Blancpain is a Swiss luxury watch brand that has a long and rich history of innovation and tradition. It was founded in 1735 by Jehan-Jacques Blancpain, who registered himself as a watchmaker in the village of Villeret. He started a family business that lasted for almost 200 years, until 1932, when his last descendant passed away. The brand was then acquired by Frédéric-Emile Blancpain, who modernized the production and expanded the international market. In 1953, Blancpain launched the Fifty Fathoms, the first modern diving watch, which became an icon of the brand and a reference for the industry. Blancpain also developed other remarkable models, such as the Ladybird, the smallest round mechanical watch at the time, and the 1735, one of the most complicated wristwatches ever made. In 1992, Blancpain became part of the Swatch Group, the world’s largest watchmaking group. Today, Blancpain is led by Marc A. Hayek, who continues to uphold the values of excellence, creativity and passion that have characterized the brand for almost three centuries. Blancpain is also committed to supporting various causes related to ocean conservation, art and culture, and gastronomy.
