About Wojas

Wojas is a renowned Polish footwear brand that has established itself as a symbol of style and comfort for both men and women. The company's roots can be traced back to the times of the Polish People's Republic when Nowy Targ was known for its shoe industry, particularly the famous Relaxes produced by the Nowotarskie Zakłady Przemysłu Skórzanego Podhale. Despite the challenges faced during the economic transformation post-1989, Wiesław Wojas, hailing from a family with generations of experience in shoe production, decided to establish his own brand. In 1990, he began with a small team and opened the first Wojas store in Poland, achieving a production of several dozen thousand pairs of shoes in the first year.

The brand quickly gained recognition for its fashionable designs, ability to adapt to changing customer preferences, and most importantly, the exceptional quality of its footwear. This led to a swift expansion of the company. In 1994, Wiesław Wojas took a significant step by purchasing parts of the liquidated NZPS Podhale factory, which not only increased production capacity but also saved hundreds of jobs. By the following year, employment within the company had tripled.

The establishment of Wojas Trade in 1996 marked the beginning of an active expansion of the company's retail network. The years 2007 and 2008 were pivotal for Wojas as the company transitioned into a joint-stock company and debuted on the Warsaw Stock Exchange. The capital raised from this move was invested in expanding the sales network, which grew to 120 stores within three years, as well as in enhancing the factory and design department. The company also intensified its presence in Slovakia by acquiring 100% shares in Wojas Slovakia.

In 2009, the company embarked on a significant factory expansion, incorporating a new injection shoe assembly system and updating its machinery. This development was partly funded by EU funds under the Innovative Economy Operational Program. Today, Wojas stands as one of the largest and most respected footwear manufacturers in Poland, boasting a network of nearly 180 stores across Poland, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Belarus, and Hungary. The company produces several hundred thousand pairs of shoes annually and offers a range of elegant leather footwear for women and men, as well as trekking shoes. Complementing its footwear line, Wojas also provides leather goods such as handbags, briefcases, and belts. A portion of its production is exported and supplied to various special services, including the army, fire brigade, border guards, Polish post office, forestry, and transport services, showcasing the brand's commitment to quality and reliability.
