About Supre

Supre is an Australian fashion retailer that specializes in women's clothing and is owned by the Cotton On Group. The brand is known for offering trendy fashion items and basics at an affordable price point, catering primarily to the youth market. Supre was established in Marrickville, New South Wales, in 1984 by Hans and Helen van der Meulen. Over the years, the brand has experienced both growth and challenges, including entering voluntary administration in 1997. In 2013, the Cotton On Group acquired Supre with the intention of expanding the brand's international presence. Following the acquisition, Supre's head office was moved from Sydney to the Cotton On Group headquarters in Geelong, Victoria.

As of September 2023, Supre operates 77 stores across Australia. The brand's product range includes fashion denim, tops, printed tees, dresses, and more. While Supre has primarily focused on women's clothing, it has occasionally included men's sections in its stores. The brand's expansion efforts have seen it open its first international store in South Africa in October 2016. However, not all ventures have been successful; for instance, all Supre stores in New Zealand were closed by 2020. Additionally, the brand faced legal issues when it was fined by the Queensland Office of Fair Trading for misleading customers about the price of clothing at its Chermside store in November 2018. Despite these setbacks, Supre continues to be a recognizable name in the Australian fashion retail industry, known for its accessible fashion and presence in the market.
