About Southpole

Southpole is a brand that offers urban fashion for young men and women. It was founded in 1991 by two brothers, David Khym and Kenny Khym, who had experience in operating retail stores in New York. They launched their flagship brand, Southpole, with the aim of translating the looks and trends on the streets into accessible clothing. Southpole became known for its puffy “bubble” jacket and 4180 ™ Relaxed Fit denim pants, which influenced the beginning of urban fashion in American street culture. The brand expanded its product range to include juniors, footwear, headwear, hosiery, eyewear, kids, bags, and other accessories. It also launched new lines such as WT02®, SP Active®, and Southpole Antarctic Expedition Outerwear Collection. Southpole has been doing business in the United States, Canada, Asia and Europe as an urban fashion designer, wholesaler and licensor with thousands of active retailers. It has won several awards from JCPenney and other clients for its apparel. It has also been featured in Forbes, WWD, and other media outlets. Southpole has a social responsibility program that supports anti-bullying campaigns and scholarships for students who lack financial means to attend college. Southpole’s mission is to provide stylish, comfortable, and affordable clothing for the young urban generation.
