The journey began over ten years ago in the UK as a part-time student project in Nicole Coates' parents' attic. As a fashion design student, she recognized the serious issues plaguing the fashion and textiles industries, particularly concerning working conditions and sustainability. The lingerie market lacked attractive, affordable, and inspiring ethical options, leading to the birth of ColieCo with a mission to prove that ethical and sustainable underwear could be fun and adventurous.

Founded by Nicole Coates, ColieCo is committed to changing perceptions about ethical clothing. The brand believes that slow fashion should inspire and excite people, making ethical alternatives accessible to a wider audience. Their lingerie and swimwear collections aim to break free from the 'grey, beige, and brown' stereotype, demonstrating that conscious fashion can be vibrant and appealing.

About Their Products: ColieCo assigns ethical product attributes to each design to help customers choose based on their priorities. Products are ethically made to order in their Sagres studio, ensuring fair wages and safe working conditions. Materials are locally sourced within the EU to limit material transit, and they support indie businesses by using materials supplied by small and family-run enterprises. ColieCo prioritizes sustainable natural fibers like TENCEL™ Lyocell and bamboo silk alternatives sourced exclusively from FSC-certified forests. They also utilize reclaimed and recycled fabrics, including RPET recycled polyester, to minimize carbon footprints, ensuring their garments are environmentally responsible.
