Together with his son Cuno, he ran the company with a lot of passion and love for the beautiful things in life, from the post-war period to 1997. arko was already based in Wahlstedt, Schleswig-Holstein, back then. And even today, arko's headquarters are located in this small town near Bad Segeberg. In the post-war period there was a high demand for luxury items that the population had to do without for a long time. The arko company in Wahlstedt initially met this requirement primarily in Schleswig-Holstein. At that time, the ingredients for the fine specialties, pastries, chocolates and pralines were bought in the rural markets and processed into the popular arko products. The company continued to develop and the name quickly stood not only for delicious pralines, pastries, sweets and chocolates, but also for the finest types of tea and coffee, high-quality spirits and fine wines that should make connoisseurs happy.
