AFoA is the only national entity that represents the forestry sector in Argentina. It is made up of companies, forest producers, students and independent professionals linked to the forestry sector and associated industry and services.

Mission and Objectives
AFoA is the only national entity that represents the forestry sector in Argentina. It is made up of companies, forestry producers, independent professionals and students linked to the forestry sector and associated industry and services.

It has Regionals in the areas of maximum forest development:
AFoA NEA (Misiones and north of Corrientes)
AFoA Río Uruguay (south of Corrientes and corridor of the Uruguay River of Entre Ríos)
AFoA Delta (Delta of Buenos Aires and Entre Ríos)
AFoA South Patagonia (Tierra del Fuego)
AFoA North Patagonia (Chubut and Neuquén)

AFoA objective
Since its creation in 1946, AFoA promotes forestry development throughout the Argentine Republic. Its current mission is to promote the development of forestry and forest-based industry and services in an economically competitive, socially responsible and environmentally sustainable manner.

To fulfill its objectives, AFoA carries out the following actions:
-Dialogue and articulate actions with the National State, provincial authorities, NGOs and public and private institutions.
-It promotes scientific and technical knowledge through the organization and participation in Congresses, Seminars and talks.
-It promotes training programs and continuous training for work.
-Participate in international forums.
-Prepare and promote notes of interest and sector studies.
-Train and inform journalists and opinion leaders.
-It is a source of public officials, legislators, etc.
-Communicate and guide society and interest groups.
-Provides information of interest to its associates.
-It promotes the sustainable management of native forests.
-It promotes and monitors laws and regulations that involve the sector.
To carry out these actions, participate in the following institutional spaces:
-He is a member of the Advisory Commission of Law 25080 Promotion of Crop Forests.
-He is a member of the National Council for the Certification of Labor Skills and Continuous Training of the sector, as well as of the Certifying Organizations of Labor Skills of workers in the forestry, wood and fire management sectors.
-She is a member of the Civil Association responsible for the Administration of the National Forest Certification System.
-Promotes the National Initiative of the FSC certification system.
-By agreement with INTA, it promotes joint actions to generate research and guides for good forestry practices, among others.
-It is a partner and part of the CD of RITIM (Network of Technological Development Institutions of the Wood Industry), promoting the strengthening of the network of continuous training institutions in the sector as well as the financing of training.
-He participates in the INET Wood and Furniture Forum, collaborating in the orientation of professional training.
-He is part of the Corporate Social Responsibility Table and strengthening of the MTEySS Value Chain.
